Hello

Hello! My name is Shayla Kochenower and I formerly taught 5th grade at Frank Kim ES. I love teaching and can't wait to get back in the classroom. I graduated with my Bachelors in Human Services from the University of Phoenix, then went on to earn my Masters in Education. I am married to my wonderful husband Adam and we have four beautiful daughters that are my pride and joy. I love camping and hiking and pretty much anything that lets me enjoy the beauty of nature. My youngest is 2 years old, and I am currently enjoying the opportunity to be a stay at home mommy. I will more than likely be returning to the classroom next year when she is a little older. I would love to hear from any of my former students. So say hello, and let me know how you have been doing!

  1. Hello Mrs. Kochenower! This is Leah Im from your fifth grade class in 2011-2012. Currently, I am a sophomore at Ed W. Clark High School in the AMSAT program. I am on the golf team and might try out for the swim team soon. Also, I am participating in Key Club, DECA, UNICEF, and FBLA haha. I miss you Mrs. Kochenower! I hope you are doing well.

    1. Leah, it is so good to hear from you! You sound like you are doing great, I love that you are in so many clubs and extracurricular activities. I am doing well, I am enjoying being able to stay home with Emma while she is little. I'll post pictures of her soon. I miss teaching though, and am excited about going back!

  2. That's great that you are home with your children. I made the same choice and have loved it. I now sub here and there because I do love to teach, but I have never regretted the time with my children.

    1. I love that I am able to be home with her, I think it is so important to have that time together. I am excited to go back next year, but at the same time, the thought of not being with her kills me. How old are your children?
